Marcelo den Toom leads the Competition/Antirust department and is a partner in the Corporate/M&A area.

His competition practice focuses on merger control, investigations into anticompetitive practices, conducting internal audits, and providing preventive advice.

 

Furthermore, he maintains an active mergers and acquisitions practice, concentrated on conducting due diligence processes, drafting and negotiating acquisition contracts and related documents, as well as advising on corporate and contractual matters.

 

Between 1998 and 1999, he worked as a foreign associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (New York) and Haynes & Boone (Houston). In 2000, he was admitted to the New York State Bar Association. Between 2014 and 2017, he served as Co-Chair of the International Antitrust Committee of the Section of International Law of the American Bar Association.

 

Marcelo has also served as a professor at various prestigious Argentinean universities. Additionally, he is the author of books and chapters related to competition defense and anticompetitive practices, including “Competition Law in Argentina” (2012, Wolters Kluwer).
