He was one of the founding members of the firm Zaldívar, Manóvil & Asociados, specializing in corporate commercial law and inter-company legal structures, corporate disputes, commercial contracts, insolvency law and national and international arbitration.

Apart from providing advice to companies of different sectors, Dr. Manóvil acted as attorney in many of the corporate disputes that became leading cases in Argentina. He was the legal representative of the Sasetru liquidators and its 37 associated companies, one of the country’s largest corporate bankruptcies.

He has also participated in relevant arbitration cases and has advised the reorganization, acquisition, sale, and merger of many companies and the drafting of national and international significant commercial contracts.

He is Emeritus Professor at the Law School of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, he is the Director of the Postgraduate Program on Company Law and a member of the Doctoral Commission.

He is regularly invited to teach at renowned universities of Argentina and other countries. He has addressed over a hundred conferences on his specialties in Argentina, Germany, Canada, Spain and Uruguay, and has participated as panelist at more than seventy national and international legal congresses.

He is the author of the work “Group Corporations in Comparative Law”, which earned him the National Academy of Law and Social Sciences prize for the best legal work published in the previous two years, and of other important articles.

He has acted in a legislative capacity as a member of the special “Federal Commission” appointed by the National Chamber of Deputies, which drafted a unified Civil and Commercial Code bill in 1993, and of the commission appointed by the Ministry of Justice to draft a Code on Private International Law, which was completed in May 2004.

He is a member of the Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires, the International Bar Association, the Academie Internationale de Droit Comparé, the International Nuclear Law Association, the Argentine-German Law Association (currently honorary president), and the committee appointed by the Argentine Senate for the Amendment of the General Companies Law.
